For sale is a very rare opportunity to acquire 6 of these in one shot. Great opportunity for resale individually! Only asking 30 bucks each. The most famous movie poster “bootleg” in history! Measures a full 27″ x 41″. Printed in the late 1980′s. We offer this to other dealers and collectors for reference and educational purposes so they can compare it to known originals. We have stamped the back of each one a few times with a 1/2″ x 2″ permanent ink stamp that says: “THIS IS NOT AN ORIGINAL MOVIE POSTER”. This will make it extremely difficult for anyone to mistake them for originals (or to possibly try and pass them off as such) at some time in the future. If someone tries to linen back one to hide the stamps, I would expect (and hope) that the linen backer will be honest and do the right thing and NOT do it. Whatever one wishes to call these….. Reproductions, reprints, unauthorized restrikes, counterfeits…….. One thing is certain. They are not original movie posters. Back in the late 1980′s someone got their hands on the original printing elements for 3 Star Wars one sheets. The Style A version 77/21-0, The Style B Teaser Advance, and the Style C International. They illegally printed untold thousands of posters. The quality of them is first class, they are extremely convincing!! They were most likely printed at the same place where the originals were (an NSS printing facility), except it was done “after hours” by unscrupulous employees. They were described as “originals”. Some dealers were fooled, some knew they weren’t real…. But bought them anyway, and some refused to have anything to do with them. They even distributed many of them to members!! As soon as they found out they weren’t authentic one sheets they stopped distributing them and were most likely destroyed. Usually, reprints are undersized. They measure a full 27″ x 41″. There are subtle printing defects / differences between originals and reprints. On the Style A there is a small “hair” right below Luke’s belt (PICTURE). There are other slight differences, but this is the one everyone focuses on. The paper quality is first rate as well, we see virtually no real difference when comparing fakes to originals except that the paper may be ever so slightly thicker on the fakes. Some have said that the fakes have a different sheen. If they do it is very slight. These bad guys usually try to legitimize them. They swear up and down that the reprints are real, that they are an alternate printing, or a scratched plate version, or from a warehouse find, or a garbage run from the factory etc. Their excuse always seems plausible. They know they are not authentic, yet they really don’t care. I have had these sitting around rolled up for decades now and it’s time to get ride of them. Original, authentic, fully folded, 1977, 20th Century Fox theatrical, Star Wars 3 sheet poster, 41 x 77, starring Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Peter Cushing and Alec Guinness. While many critics consider this film to be the greatest cinematic epic of all time, it is certainly one of the very best science fiction movies of all time. The special effects are supremely creative and awesome for 1977. The casting is also great, the screenplay and direction are superb, and the score by John Williams is iconic. The film was nominated for eleven Academy Awards and won seven of them. This film is considered a central part of movie history. Poster comes in 1 piece, not 2 pieces like most larger sized posters. Reverse is stamped “star wars 3 sh foreign” in blue ink. All star wars 3 sheets were stamped for worldwide distribution. Poster has the Century Fox logo (see pics). It has been stored this way in my closet ever since. To my knowledge, it has NEVER been displayed and is in extremely fine condition. This 3 sheet poster is an excellent candidate for linen-backing and preserving for generations. Poster has only been opened to take pictures. THE MOST FAMOUS MOVIE POSTER OF ALL TIME! ACTUAL FIRST AND ONLY LEGITIMATE 1977 PRINTING! PERFECT MINT For the FUSSY Collector! OK – Here it is: A BONA FIDE ORIGINAL 1st Printing NSS (National Screen Service) STAR WARS Style “A” PRE-RELEASE One-Sheet Movie Poster! Even the most advanced Star Wars collectors doesn’t have this important poster in. PERFECT MINT/C-10 ORIGINAL UNUSED CONDITION. THE EARLY PRE-RELEASE HISTORY OF THIS RARE 1st PRINTING. This one-sheet, a rare half-sheet, and, a 14×36 inch insert were all made and distributed without the PG box here within the USA! Not many were dispersed, but they did get out. This rare MINT example is one of those early posters made. A lot of people believe that if a poster is absent the PG box that means it’s an “international” poster. That’s NOT true. There are MANY posters printed specifically for distribution here in the USA that don’t have the PG Box. It’s also true that international posters typically do NOT have the PG ratings box. However, that one single factor isn’t the sole determining element as to whether a poster is international or domestic. Also, many new collectors, or, “the novice-uninformed” get confused about what an international poster is. An international poster is a poster printed in the country of origin where a film is produced, but is made for distribution outside of that country. I finally was able to find photographic proof that FOX issued Star Wars posters this way. In an old “Toyota Weekly” magazine from 1977. Toyota ran a Star Wars contest with a first prize being a new Celica “Force-mobile”- custom painted with the logo and characters from the film. In their corporate magazine they documented an event showcasing the car prior to the films release. The photos show a Star Wars 24-sheet hanging in the background on the 20th Century-Fox studio lot in California – where the spread was shot. The 24-sheet has the same Tom Jung art as this half-sheet and does NOT have the PG box – same as this half-sheet. That’s definitive proof Fox used posters without the PG domestically. I have a scan of the Toyota Weekly image of the 24-sheet without the PG. Additionally, I know that half-sheet posters on Raiders of the Lost Ark were issued here the same way – FIRST – without the PG. I even have a 22×28 on Raiders with a PG box sticker that was pasted onto a NON-PG poster. That clearly shows they printed posters on these films before they had ratings! Both Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark got the PG in the end, and, in the end, BOTH productions added the PG box on the posters. In 1977, they even reprinted the 24-sheet billboards with the added PG boxes as well. [or 1-sheet] is a printer’s term for what’s considered the “standard” poster size, which is 27×41 inches. This NO PG one-sheet has the NSS printing code 77/21-0, which is the first (and only) genuine printing. Authentic originals of this printing are rare enough to find, but to find a genuine perfect mint original UNUSED flat-folded one – Forget about it! This is not one of those. I call those “the Energizer Bunnies of posters, ” because they keep on coming and coming…. Nevertheless, I’m not going to go into all one-hundred and one different ways one can to tell this original style “A” from the fakes (I’ll save that for my encyclopedia on posters), but I’ll point out the three big issues of pressing concern to most educated collectors. Is the all important razor sharp GAU (Graphic Arts International) union stamp. The logo must have even and thick Razor Sharp lines that present clarity within the logo, because if it doesn’t – it’s a copy! – would be the so-called hairy belt. It’s actually a hair (below Luke’s belt) that was caught in the duplication process when they photographed the original to bootleg it. It’s one of the bootleg’s most telltale signs – but – I wouldn’t solely rely on it. I’ve seen dubious people carefully scratch the “hair” off with a needle so it wouldn’t photograph in their listings. I found out about that trick the hard way, when I bought one that appeared not to have the hair. ” Talk about “criminal intent. IMPORTANT LUCASFILM AUTHENTICATION & EXPOSURE! – This is the genuine 1977 77/21-0 1st printing. It was issued WITHOUT THE PG! In fact, in 2005, Lucasfilm released the official “Star Wars Poster Book, ” which lists ALL of the posters they were aware of at the time of publishing. It lists ONLY two (2) authentic US style “A” one-sheets in their list of over 3000 posters in the back of the book; This one and the 20th Century Record promotion one-sheet. Furthermore – and even more important – is the fact that, in the front of the book, they give this style “A” one sheet a glorious full page representation on page 15. If you take a careful look, you’ll notice the poster does NOT have the PG ratings box, and so that more than proves my point about the originality and the 1st printing status of this NON PG one-sheet. I’ve posted a high-res photo of the Lucasfilm book showing the style “A” on page 15 in the photo section of this listing (see photo #6). I admit my prices are somewhat advanced, but the service and guarantee I provide is equally advanced. It more than makes up for what appears not to be a bargain price. I say “appears” because it’s my sincere belief that it’s a bargain to be certain in what you’re getting. Certainty is what all the fuss is about when it comes to certifications on autographs, baseball cards, and, comic books. It’s what all three of those collectable industries solely rely on. I’m a well-known expert. I fully designed and authored a Star Wars poster-collecting guide back in 1999 – It was published by Butterfields. I’m credited in the front of the guide. I offer that guide with some of my listings see a photo of it in my listing with the. 1976 ORIGINAL Star Wars Corporation FLYER. I point this out because I want you to know that I can definitely authenticate Star Wars posters with 100% accuracy. Needless to say, this one-sheet is as clean as it gets. It’s been perfectly protected since 1977 when this poster was manufactured Flat-folded at the NSS plant. Flat-Folded posters are tri-folded posters – they don’t have the long centerfold that’s typically found on all 1970′s one-sheets. Additionally, this remarkable example has extremely light folds for a tri-folded poster as the poster was only opened once or twice back in the’70′s. Four decades this has now been stored and sealed away in a flat pack between acid free paper, and so needless to say. It’s as flat as a pancake, even flatter. Again, if you’re a fussy Star Wars collector, this one-sheet is for you. Regardless, it’s an important poster to own, even if you are not a Star Wars collector. This one-sheet personifies “movie poster, ” serving as a synonym for the format itself. This one-sheet is probably the most famous movie poster design of all time, recognizable to nearly everyone on the planet. It’s now been over 40 years since it was originally printed. As the years pass, it becomes harder and harder to acquire an authentic original that’s mint. This will be professionally packaged & sent in a special PVC crush-proof pipe-tube to assure it arrives undamaged! If you’re looking for an investment/museum quality item, look no further! Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi Anthony Daniels…. It can crash regardless of any decision you make and can even crash regardless of any decision made by the company related to the stock – Leaving you with a near worthless piece of paper that won’t inspire anyone! The magnificence of art and historic documents have an inherent value that relates to civilization and society. This poster is definitely. FOR MOST ITEMS LISTED. Please write with any questions. If it has any minor defects like pin holes, creases, etc. And they are not mentioned above, they should be visible in the high resolution photo. Please examine it closely or if you would like a more detailed condition report please message us. Perfect for a high end home theater. Highly sought after by movie poster collectors and aficionados. This is what all you. Fans have been waiting for! The most famous movie poster “bootleg” in history! Measures a full 27″ x 41″. Printed in the late 1980′s. They know they are not authentic, yet they really don’t care. Since word about these fakes has spread and it has become common knowledge in the collecting community (and thus, more difficult to sell), these shady dealers have begun to lightly fold them, put pin holes in them, and even get them linen backed to try and make them appear more authentic. How do you expect them to determine what is real and what is not? Unless they are ever contacted by Lucasfilm (which we really don’t see happening as they closed the book on this 20 years ago) the rip off of new Star Wars collectors will continue. As soon as she realized she was ripped off and that they weren’t real, she put them in a closet and tried to forget about them. She realized that she should have known better, that it was too good to be true. They are all in Near Mint to Mint unused condition. This is an extremely high quality bootleg poster. We are absolutely certain it is NOT AN ORIGINAL AUTHENTIC MOVIE POSTER. We use super strong hi-quality packaging materials including thick cardboard, masonite, and costly pvc plastic pipe. Please be advised that over 95% of all Original Movie Posters. Printed before the mid 1980′s were issued FOLDED. This is NOT considered a defect. Vintage rolled posters do exist, however they are extremely rare. We can have any folded poster. Which will make the fold lines virtually disappear. Also please note that most movie posters were actually used at the theater, and some will contain slight imperfections such as: writing on the back, pin holes, fold wear, small tears, etc. These are all very common and to be expected, but if they bother you, all these minor flaws can be remedied in the linen backing process. Linen Backing preserves and can actually increase the value of a poster. For the most part, any flaws will be fixed and the poster will appear to be in Near Mint condition. For more information about our. We do not always measure all of our posters exactly. Unless otherwise specified, poster measurements quoted above are approximate to the nearest inch. For example, if we say a one sheet poster is 27″ x 41″ its precise measurements may be closer to 26 3/4″ x 40 7/8″ (or something similar). This slight variance is quite common for all original movie posters. BEWARE OF “FAKE” MOVIE POSTERS! There are fakes, bootlegs, reprints, and reproductions of almost every popular movie poster. WE DO NOT SELL THESE AS ORIGINALS LIKE OTHERS DO! There are many unscrupulous dealers who successfully pass off these posters as originals. They have been doing it for years! These fakes are almost indistinguishable from originals, only experts can tell. They only discover years later when they sell them that they are worthless. Most are from popular movies from the 70′s and 80s, but there are also really old ones and relatively new ones as well. They usually appear in insert size 14″ x 36″ and one sheet size 27″ x 41″. Again, all we can say is BEWARE! We grade our posters according to the Iguide Universal 10-Point Movie Poster Grading Scale. C10 Mint – Investment quality. No perceptible flaws of any kind. C9 Near Mint – Investment quality. Minor flaw on an otherwise unused poster. C8 Excellent – Investment quality. A few minor defects. C7 Very Good to Excellent – Fine condition. Still a very nicely preserved item. C6 Very Good – The typical used poster in average condition. C5 Good to Very Good – A heavily-worn item. C4 Good – Below average but still suitable for display. C3 Fair – Heavily worn, but yet still complete. C2 Poor to Fair – An extremely worn, possibly even incomplete item. C1 Poor – The lowest grade, representing items in the lowest possible condition. Some of our posters are “between grades”. For example, a C8-C9 poster will contain all the qualities/characteristics of a Near Mint C9 except for one or two very minor flaws that we believe prevent it from being a true C9. Sometimes it isn’t possible to do this. Sometimes we can’t roll a folded poster. Please note that if we hold your items for longer than 30 days they will NOT BE RETURNABLE. WE TAKE EXTRA SPECIAL CARE WHEN WE PACKAGE YOUR ITEMS. Folded posters are placed in a plastic bag or envelope and in between STRONG pieces of cardboard and taped together before being placed in the package. Rolled posters are put into a plastic sleeve and then placed in a HEAVY-DUTY TOUGH 3 or 4 diameter thick walled PVC tube. We roll the poster into a smaller diameter than the tube. This is VERY IMPORTANT because it gives the edges strength and helps to prevent them from getting wrinkled. We add soft cushioning material also very important! On the ends to prevent them from getting damaged. We stamp FRAGILE: DO NOT BEND on the outside of the package. EUROPEAN CUSTOMERS PLEASE READ. To protect ourselves, we insure expensive items for the FULL AMOUNT. These combined charges can add up to 25% or more to your final cost. For other European countries the charges will differ. Please check with your postal system on their procedure for packages from overseas so you are not unpleasantly surprised. You must notify us before sending it back. This is extremely rare, but it does occasionally happen. We know how to create a listing that will provide you with the highest dollar possible. We can yield for you MUCH MORE than you would get if you auctioned them yourself up to TEN TIMES or more! Let us sell your posters for you! For more information about CineMasterpieces please see. We guarantee that all posters we sell are graded and described accurately. Unless otherwise specified in the description, ALL POSTERS ARE ORIGINAL MOVIE POSTERS original theatrical movie posters that were displayed or meant for display (unused) in theaters at the time the movies were released.
