EMPIRE STRIKES BACK? CineMasterpieces PREVIEW SCREENING MOVIE POSTER STAR WARS

THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK? PREVIEW SCREENING HERALD FLYER. 8.5″ X 11″. TRI FOLDED AS ISSUED. If it has any minor defects like pin holes, creases, etc. And they are not mentioned above, they should be visible in the high resolution photo. WE DO NOT SELL REPRODUCTIONS OF ANY KIND. NO FAKES, NO REPRINTS. Perfect for a high end home theater. Highly sought after by movie poster collectors and aficionados. From the CineMasterpieces archive. This is a genuine 8.5″ x 11″ U. ORIGINAL MOVIE POSTER PREVIEW SCREENING HERALD FLYER. Originally TRI-FOLDED as issued. Our photo shows it pressed flat. This is a very rare item. Not many of these have survived. Originally from the collection of a former ILM employee. Back side is blank. Printed on cream color paper. These can be very difficult to find in any condition! A long time can go by without one of these coming up for sale. You will have trouble finding a nicer one. No tears, no tape, no pin holes. This poster is considered to be within that class and is definitely INVESTMENT QUALITY. This is NOT a reprint or reproduction poster! It is a REAL ORIGINAL MOVIE POSTER issued by the studio when the film was released. We are absolutely certain it is authentic. Please be advised that over 95% of all Original Movie Posters. Printed before the mid 1980′s were issued FOLDED. This is NOT considered a defect. Vintage rolled posters do exist, however they are extremely rare. We can have any folded poster. Which will make the fold lines virtually disappear. Also please note that most movie posters were actually used at the theater, and some will contain slight imperfections such as: writing on the back, pin holes, fold wear, small tears, etc. These are all very common and to be expected, but if they bother you, all these minor flaws can be remedied in the linen backing process. Linen Backing preserves and can actually increase the value of a poster. For the most part, any flaws will be fixed and the poster will appear to be in Near Mint condition. For more information about our. We do not always measure all of our posters exactly. Unless otherwise specified, poster measurements quoted above are approximate to the nearest inch. For example, if we say a one sheet poster is 27″ x 41″ its precise measurements may be closer to 26 3/4″ x 40 7/8″ (or something similar). This slight variance is quite common for all original movie posters. BEWARE OF “FAKE” MOVIE POSTERS! There are fakes, bootlegs, reprints, and reproductions of almost every popular movie poster. WE DO NOT SELL THESE AS ORIGINALS LIKE OTHERS DO! There are many unscrupulous dealers who successfully pass off these posters as originals. They have been doing it for years! These fakes are almost indistinguishable from originals, only experts can tell. They only discover years later when they sell them that they are worthless. Most are from popular movies from the 70′s and 80′s, but there are also really old ones and relatively new ones as well. They usually appear in insert size 14″ x 36″ and one sheet size 27″ x 41″. Again, all we can say is BEWARE! We grade our posters according to the Iguide Universal 10-Point Movie Poster Grading Scale. C10 Mint – Investment quality. No perceptible flaws of any kind. C9 Near Mint – Investment quality. Minor flaw on an otherwise unused poster. C8 Excellent – Investment quality. A few minor defects. C7 Very Good to Excellent – Fine condition. Still a very nicely preserved item. C6 Very Good – The typical used poster in average condition. C5 Good to Very Good – A heavily-worn item. C4 Good – Below average but still suitable for display. C3 Fair – Heavily worn, but yet still complete. C2 Poor to Fair – An extremely worn, possibly even incomplete item. C1 Poor – The lowest grade, representing items in the lowest possible condition. Some of our posters are “between grades”. For example, a C8-C9 poster will contain all the qualities/characteristics of a Near Mint C9 except for one or two very minor flaws that we believe prevent it from being a true C9. Sometimes it isn’t possible to do this. Sometimes we can’t roll a folded poster. Please note that if we hold your items for longer than 30 days they will NOT BE RETURNABLE. WE TAKE EXTRA SPECIAL CARE WHEN WE PACKAGE YOUR ITEMS. Folded posters are placed in a plastic bag or envelope and in between STRONG pieces of cardboard and taped together before being placed in the package. Rolled posters are put into a plastic sleeve and then placed in a HEAVY-DUTY TOUGH 3″ or 4″ diameter thick walled PVC tube. We roll the poster into a smaller diameter than the tube. This is VERY IMPORTANT because it gives the edges strength and helps to prevent them from getting wrinkled. We add soft cushioning material also very important! On the ends to prevent them from getting damaged. We stamp “FRAGILE: DO NOT BEND” on the outside of the package. EUROPEAN CUSTOMERS PLEASE READ. To protect ourselves, we insure expensive items for the FULL AMOUNT. These combined charges can add up to 25% or more to your final cost. For other European countries the charges will differ. Please check with your postal system on their procedure for packages from overseas so you are not unpleasantly surprised. You must notify us before sending it back. This is extremely rare, but it does occasionally happen. We know how to create a listing that will provide you with the highest dollar possible. We can yield for you MUCH MORE than you would get if you auctioned them yourself up to TEN TIMES or more! Let us sell your posters for you! For more information about CineMasterpieces please see. We guarantee that all posters we sell are graded and described accurately. Unless otherwise specified in the description, ALL POSTERS ARE ORIGINAL MOVIE POSTERS original theatrical movie posters that were displayed or meant for display (unused) in theaters at the time the movies were released. We will put in writing that we guarantee it to be an Original Movie Poster. This item is in the category “Entertainment Memorabilia\Movie Memorabilia\Posters\Originals-United States\1980-89″. Original 27 X 41 1 sheet ROLLED 1977 STAR WARS Style C Scratched Plate Version

Original 27 X 41 1 sheet ROLLED 1977 STAR WARS Style C Scratched Plate Version

Original STAR WARS style C 27×41 movie theater poster. THIS WAS THE POSTER PRODUCED FOR THE BRITISH RELEASE. I HAVE TAKEN THEM FROM SEVERAL THEATERS AROUND THE WORLD. AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND, FIJI, GUAM ETC. I RECEIVED SEVERAL FROM LUCAS FILM EMPLOYEES. I RECEIVED THEM FROM PEOPLE WHO CLAIMED TO HAVE GOT THEM FROM THE FAN CLUB. HOWEVER, I DID NOT PERSONALLY GET THEM FROM THE FAN CLUB. SEVERAL HUNDRED COPIES CAME FROM THE 20TH CENTURY-FOX WAREHOUSE. MY STORE IN MARIN COUNTY WAS A MAGNET FOR POSTERS THAT WERE NOT CONSIDERED TO BE AS VALUABLE AS THEY ARE NOW. ANOTHER INTERESTING THING IS PEOPLE WHO CALL IT FAKE SAY THAT COMPARED TO THE ORIGINAL IT IS SOMEWHAT BETTER? ALSO THE SO CALLED BOOTLEG STYLE A WITH THE HAIR BELT IS ALSO A SCRATCHED PLATE. IN FACT LUCAS FILM’S LICENSED REPRINT HAS THE SAME SCRATCH, IT MAKES NO SENSE TO ME THAT THEY WOULD USE A FAKE POSTER TO MAKE THEIR RETAIL POSTER. I BELIEVE THE REASON ZIGZAG DID THAT IS BECAUSE IT WAS AN ORIGINAL FROM THE ARCHIVES. THE STYLE C USED FOR THE REPRINT WAS A CLEANED UP DIGITAL VERSION OF A PREVIOUS REPRINT, THAT IS WHY THE LETTERING IS BLACK. I ALSO BELIEVE THE SO CALLED TEST PROOF STYLE C IS ACTUALLY THE TEST PROOF FOR THOSE REPRINTS FROM THE 80s WHICH WERE 41 AND OBVIOUS REPRINTS. I CAN NOT PROVE IT, JUST A THEORY I HAVE, SO AS RELIABLE AS THE GUYS CALLING THIS BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL POSTER A BOOTLEG LOL. THIS POSTER WAS NEVER DISPLAYED. IT HAS NO FADING. Very very fine/near mint. Any flaw in it is tiny. Theaters were given several items for display. 8×10 and 11×14 lobby cards, b/w photos, 14×36 “inserts”, 22×28 “1/2 sheet”, “1 sheet” posters originally 27×41 and currently 27×40, 30×40, 40×60, 41×81 etc. Free items from the studio had no cut and dry rule either. THERE MAY BE A FLASH GLARE IN THE PICTURE. ANY FLAW THAT IS IN THE ITEM IS TINY. I HAVE BEEN CONSULTANT TO TELEVISION, RADIO AND MAGAZINE REGARDING MOVIE MEMORABILIA. THIS IS THE ORIGINAL RELEASE, THIS POSTER WAS PRINTED FOR 20TH CENTURY FOX UNDER TO BE DISPLAYED AT THEATERS AS ADVERTISEMENT, GUARANTEED 100% ORIGINAL, ALL NATIONAL SCREEN SERVICE (NSS)NUMBERS AND INFO IS ON THE POSTER, THIS POSTER WAS PRINTED FOR THE NATIONAL SCREEN SERVICE UNDER CONTRACT BY THEIR PRINTER TO BE DISPLAYED AT THEATERS AS ADVERTISEMENT, THIS IS NOT A REPRINT, REISSUE, RESTRIKE OR REANYTHING. THIS ITEM CAME FROM MY RETAIL STORES INVENTORY, I CLOSED MY LAST STORE IN MARIN COUNTY CA. AND EVEN LESS THAT HANDLED PRIMARILY CURRENT TITLES, (1970 & LATER). HOWEVER, OUR SALES WERE ISOLATED TO OUR STORES OR IF WE TRAVELED TO ANTIQUE SHOWS AND COLLECTORS EVENTS. COLLECTIONS WOULD COME IN FROM THE PUBLIC TO MY LOCATION BECAUSE THEY HAD NO WHERE ELSE TO SELL THEM. I BOUGHT POSTERS IN SMALL AND LARGE AMOUNTS, 1 TO 1000 COPYS AND MORE. FOR EXAMPLE, IN 1984, I LEFT ONE THEATER WITH 23 SUITCASES FULL OF 68 LBS OF POSTERS IN EACH ONE. 70LBS WAS THE WEIGHT LIMIT TO GET ON A PLANE. I PAID MORE FOR THE EXTRA LUGGAGE THAN I DID THE POSTERS. IN THE LATE 1970′S AND EARLY 1980′S POSTERS WERE STILL AVAILABLE TO BE BOUGHT DIRECT FROM NATIONAL SCREEN SERVICE. AT THE TIME THERE WASN’T ENOUGH BUYERS TO SELL TO AND KEEP A CASH FLOW. COLLECTIONS CAME TO ME WHILE WORKING ANTIQUE SHOWS IN THE MALLS IN THE 1980′S. SEVERAL STUDIO AND PRINTER EMPLOYEES BROUGHT ME POSTERS WHILE I WORKED THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA MALLS. ONE INTERESTING THING IS THAT THE VIDEO STORES IN THE EARLY 1980′S WERE GETTING ORIGINAL POSTERS WITH THEIR TAPE ORDERS. THOSE USUALLY HAD THE EXTRA FOLD. IN THE EARLY 1990′S MY STORE IN MARIN BROUGHT IN MORE POSTERS THAN I WILL EVER BE ABLE TO SELL. I HAVE BOUGHT OUT REGIONAL WAREHOUSES BOTH IN DOMESTIC AND FOREIGN LOCATIONS. I COULD TELL STORIES FOR DAYS LIKE THIS, HOWEVER, NOT EVERYBODY WANTS TO HEAR THEM :. I HAVE NOT TOLD MY HISTORY BEFORE BECAUSE IT SEEMED LIKE BRAGGING TO ME, HOWEVER, THERE ARE SO MANY RIDICULOUS RUMORS GOING UNCHECKED ON THE INTERNET, AS WELL AS INTENTIONAL FRAUD I HAVE LAID SOME OF MY CREDENTIALS OUT FOR CUSTOMERS TO KNOW WHO THEY ARE DEALING WITH. I HAVE NOT BUILT A BUSINESS SINCE 1980 ON BEING DISHONEST. IF THE PICTURE DOESNT SHOW! IT IS BEING RAN PRIVATE TO ELIMINATE THE USE OF MY AUCTIONS BY SCANDALOUS PEOPLE. It has taken me over 100 hours to add it to all my items. They will not tell me why it needs to be added. If you have more questions about this item, please contact me at the following. Live And Let Die? Rolled Never-folded? 1-of-a-kind Nss Printer's Proof Poster

REAL 1973 NSS TEST PROOF! Offered here is simply one of THE rarest authentic original James Bond 1-sheets (27×41 inches) to ever come out of the National Screen Service for ANY of the James Bond films – Sean Connery or Roger Moore! That’s an extraordinary statement, but it’s true! This poster has only survived because it was personally saved by an NSS print shop worker who loved the whole Bond bravado, not to mention the films. In other words, he was a “shaken not stirred” kind of a guy. He saved this proof along with another alternate style printer’s proof. He said the alternate style proof really caught his eye because it reminded him of what Andy Warhol was doing at the time, and so he pulled it off the press to take home. That when he saved this finalized version as well. He rolled both proofs away and neither have seen the light of day until recently. This is a ROLLED NEVER-FOLDED original 1973 printing! Try and find ANY 1973 NSS 1-sheet rolled. Bond posters are practically nonexistent on the collector’s market today. If you’ve been following prices realized on vintage movie posters, you’ll agree; the exotically rare James Bond posters have gone out-of-site in recent years! Rarities like the uncut “Thunderball” Advance Quad, or, the “From Russia with Love” British Double Crown are among that elite group of valuable Bond posters I’m talking about. As great and as rare as those posters are, they’re NOT as rare as finding this 1-sheet rolled and never-folded. Full color version appears to be the same as the final folded released posters. I don’t have a folded one here to compare it to, but it looks to be finalized short of a few printing defects. It’s in remarkable. VERY FINE+ to NearMINT ROLLED NEVER-FOLDED UNRESTORED CONDITION. As I’m sure you know, NSS (National Screen Service) issued all the 1-sheets folded in 1973, and so to get any NSS issue rolled from that year is nearly impossible! To be in this great shape. It’s a real beauty! I will be raising the price if it fais to sell quickly. It can crash regardless of any decision you make and can even crash regardless of any decision made by the company related to the stock – Leaving you with a near worthless piece of paper that won’t inspire anyone! The magnificence of art and historic documents have an inherent value that relates to civilization and society. This poster is definitely. Please write with any questions. If you’re in the market for top quality original vintage movie posters or Star Wars, then please. Poster that was issued for a movie by the National Screen Service (NSS), or. A movie studio, or by another company authorized by the studio for display in an actual movie theater or for promotional use at the time of the. And posters with “Academy Award” on them are also “original” but they are usually considered less desirable. NSS (National Screen Service). From 1939 until the mid-1980s the NSS distributed almost 90% of all American movie posters. During the 1960′s and 70′s they had at least 6 regional print shops: New Jersey, Cleveland, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Wichita, and Dallas. They produced, printed, distributed and. All of the materials for most of the major movie studios. NSS was bought out by Technicolor, Inc. Movie studios mostly now print and distribute their own advertising materials. Folded & Rolled Posters. Older posters, prior to the mid 1980′s were usually (not always) issued folded while newer posters are issued rolled. Vintage original movie posters were normally printed in very limited quantities, thus they are rarer. All of them were not meant to be saved. Authentic original movie posters usually contain an NSS information tag/paragraph and number. However, this is not always true. There are plenty of original movie posters that do not contain NSS info. To complicate matters, just because a poster has an NSS tagline, NSS number, and a GAU (printer’s union) logo, does not necessarily mean it is an original movie poster. There are many fakes and reprints that have this printed on them to make them appear more authentic. Studio (non NSS) issued posters. These were a different print run at the time of the films initial release often printed directly for or by the studio for promotion and as giveaways to industry insiders. Not necessarily for use in an actual theater, but sometimes they did make their way there. May differ slightly or be exactly the same as the NSS printing except for NSS tag and. Are rarer than the NSS issued poster. One Sheet 27″x41″ or 27″x40″, Insert 14″x36″, Half Sheet 22″x28″, Three Sheet 41″x81″, Lobby Card 11″x14″, Window Card 14″x22″. Measurements on these can vary slightly, but usually by no more than a half inch or so. Issued well in advance (usually many months) of a film’s release. Usually a one sheet. Very often similar to the regular issue but with an added line of text like “Coming This Christmas”. Issued before a film is released. Designed to pique interest “teasing” by showing very little. Very often contains plain text or a single picture without text. Usually rarer than the regular issues. A poster made in the U. Often featuring different artwork, but sometimes they use almost the same exact artwork/design. Sometimes the artwork/photos are more risqué and sometimes they feature an alternate title. Studios often issued many different styles of one sheets for the same movie. To differentiate them they were often marked as Style A or Style B etc. In the early 1990′s some studios started issuing movie posters that were printed on both sides. This process makes the poster stand out more in a theater light box display. Today, most posters are printed with single sided and double sided versions. Re-release or reissue posters are original theater used movie posters, but have considerably lesser value than a first release poster. Most often you can determine a reissue by looking at the bottom of your poster in the right hand corner. There will usually be an R in front of a year number as in. If it is a reissue. Other clues are phrases such as “An Encore Hit”, Brought Back. Popular Demand or Nothing Cut But the Prices. A poster with three. September 2000 and our feedback.
