THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK Original ADVANCE One Sheet Movie Poster STAR WARS

MOVIE TITLE: STAR WARS V – THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. FORMAT/SIZE: One Sheet Film Poster (27″ x 41″). RELEASE: First release – Advance. STARRING: Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, David Prowse, Billy Dee Williams. Photos are of the actual item(s) you’ll be receiving. NOTE: Darth Vader advance for the best Star Wars film. This piece came directly out of my personal film memorabilia and movie poster collection that I amassed over decades of collecting. I collected mostly one sheets from the best movies of the year, with an emphasis on beautiful artwork and country-of-origin, but I also ended up with lots of other poster sizes as well. You’ll find everything from half sheets, 3 sheets, 6 sheets, and lobby cards – to props, presskits and trailers, etc… Original Star Wars posters – to original Pulp Fiction advances. Once they’re gone, they’re gone! I try to take photos for you in both natural and artificial light (which is why you might see a slight color difference between the images). MORE ORIGINAL MOVIE COLLECTIBLES & FILM MEMORABILIA. I do not sell fakes, reprints, commercial posters, reproductions, video posters, etc.. Although, as with all rules, there are a few odd exceptions. There’s no theatrical poster for things like Lonesome Dove, so if you want a real poster, your only option is the video one sheet. Similarly, the video one sheet for Dawn of the Dead is actually better looking than the theatrical posters. So, I do carry the Lonesome Dove, and could conceivably carry the Dawn of the Dead. Somewhere I have a commercial poster for Star Wars or the Empire Strikes Back that somehow ended up back at the poster distributor’s – where it got stamped and sent back out to other theatres to display. So, is it now a real poster? Similarly, I can remember when the Matrix was released and the studio wasn’t expecting it to do as well as it did – and they completely ran out of one sheets late in the film’s first release! That’s why Matrix one sheets have always been so sought after, there’s never been enough. Again, does that make those specific commercial posters real now? By the definition most collectors use, it would. Or, at least, it might. Most of my posters were sourced from movie theatres or poster distribution warehouses by myself personally. So, rest assured, none of my posters came from any of those bad dealers you’ve heard so much about. And any posters with known bootlegs have been checked to make sure they’re original, even the ones I personally took out of a theatre’s projection or poster-storage room myself. If you see anything I’ve mis-described, please let me know so I can update the listing! Local pick-up is available. If you would like faster service or a different courier FexEx, UPS, Purolator, DHL, etc… , that can be arranged, but will likely cost considerably more. CANADA : Canada Post – this seems to be averaging 3 to 6 calendar days. The cut-off time here is 3pm EST. I package everything as safely as I can given size and weight constraints. Folded posters typically go in an envelope with cardboard – and then inside a larger box so it has two layers of protection. Rolled posters typically get wrapped in near-neutral-PH paper, then placed inside a tube, then wrapped in bubble wrap and put into a 200# test box. So, again, two layers of protection. Please see the detailed photographs so you can judge each item’s authenticity, condition, and defects for yourself. Unfortunately, due to covid-related service-disruptions and the rise of porch-pirates, etc… I have collected original movie posters for several decades now. I provided the servers (pro bono) that hosted the internet’s first movie-poster authentication site, a site which was responsible for severely curtailing fraud inside the hobby. I was even the person who first broke one of the biggest bootleg scandals our hobby has ever seen. Or maybe it was two? So, you can rest assured that you are getting what you paid for! The best and most highly-collectible movie posters on the planet! This item is in the category “Entertainment Memorabilia\Movie Memorabilia\Posters\Originals-United States\1980-89″. The seller is “moviesandposters” and is located in this country: CA. This item can be shipped worldwide.

Original 14×36 ROLLED Star Wars EMPIRE STRIKES BACK STYLE A RECALLED ADVANCE

Original 14x36 ROLLED Star Wars EMPIRE STRIKES BACK STYLE A RECALLED ADVANCE

Never displayed, No pin holes or tape. ORIGINAL MOVIE THEATER 14X36 “INSERT” POSTER, ROLLED NEVER FOLDED. THIS IS THE STYLE A POSTER, “GONE WITH THE WIND” STYLE, IT WAS RECALLED BECAUSE OF A CONTRACT PROBLEM WHEN BILLY DEE WILLIAMS WASN’T ON THE POSTER, IT WAS REPLACED WITH THE STYLE B POSTER. Theaters were given several items for display. 8×10 and 11×14 lobby cards, b/w photos, 14×36 “inserts”, 22×28 “1/2 sheet”, “1 sheet” posters originally 27×41 and currently 27×40, 30×40, 40×60, 41×81 etc. Free items from the studio had no cut and dry rule either. THERE MAY BE A FLASH GLARE IN THE PICTURE. ANY FLAW THAT IS IN THE ITEM IS TINY. I HAVE BEEN CONSULTANT TO TELEVISION, RADIO AND MAGAZINE REGARDING MOVIE MEMORABILIA. THIS IS THE ORIGINAL RELEASE, ALL NATIONAL SCREEN SERVICE (NSS)NUMBERS AND INFO IS ON THE POSTER, THIS POSTER WAS PRINTED FOR THE NATIONAL SCREEN SERVICE UNDER CONTRACT BY THEIR PRINTER TO BE DISPLAYED AT THEATERS AS ADVERTISEMENT, THIS IS NOT A REPRINT, REISSUE, RESTRIKE OR REANYTHING. I HAVE COLLECTED THIS ITEM AND 1000′S OF OTHERS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS FROM SEVERAL SOURCES SINCE 1980. THIS ITEM CAME FROM MY RETAIL STORES INVENTORY, I CLOSED MY LAST STORE IN MARIN COUNTY CA. AND EVEN LESS THAT HANDLED PRIMARILY CURRENT TITLES, (1970 & LATER). HOWEVER, OUR SALES WERE ISOLATED TO OUR STORES OR IF WE TRAVELED TO ANTIQUE SHOWS AND COLLECTORS EVENTS. COLLECTIONS WOULD COME IN FROM THE PUBLIC TO MY LOCATION BECAUSE THEY HAD NO WHERE ELSE TO SELL THEM. I BOUGHT POSTERS IN SMALL AND LARGE AMOUNTS, 1 TO 1000 COPYS AND MORE. FOR EXAMPLE, IN 1984, I LEFT ONE THEATER WITH 23 SUITCASES FULL OF 68 LBS OF POSTERS IN EACH ONE. 70LBS WAS THE WEIGHT LIMIT TO GET ON A PLANE. I PAID MORE FOR THE EXTRA LUGGAGE THAN I DID THE POSTERS. IN THE LATE 1970′S AND EARLY 1980′S POSTERS WERE STILL AVAILABLE TO BE BOUGHT DIRECT FROM NATIONAL SCREEN SERVICE. AT THE TIME THERE WASN’T ENOUGH BUYERS TO SELL TO AND KEEP A CASH FLOW. COLLECTIONS CAME TO ME WHILE WORKING ANTIQUE SHOWS IN THE MALLS IN THE 1980′S. SEVERAL STUDIO AND PRINTER EMPLOYEES BROUGHT ME POSTERS WHILE I WORKED THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA MALLS. ONE INTERESTING THING IS THAT THE VIDEO STORES IN THE EARLY 1980′S WERE GETTING ORIGINAL POSTERS WITH THEIR TAPE ORDERS. THOSE USUALLY HAD THE EXTRA FOLD. IN THE EARLY 1990′S MY STORE IN MARIN BROUGHT IN MORE POSTERS THAN I WILL EVER BE ABLE TO SELL. I HAVE BOUGHT OUT REGIONAL WAREHOUSES BOTH IN DOMESTIC AND FOREIGN LOCATIONS. I COULD TELL STORIES FOR DAYS LIKE THIS, HOWEVER, NOT EVERYBODY WANTS TO HEAR THEM :. I HAVE NOT TOLD MY HISTORY BEFORE BECAUSE IT SEEMED LIKE BRAGGING TO ME, HOWEVER, THERE ARE SO MANY RIDICULOUS RUMORS GOING UNCHECKED ON THE INTERNET, AS WELL AS INTENTIONAL FRAUD I HAVE LAID SOME OF MY CREDENTIALS OUT FOR CUSTOMERS TO KNOW WHO THEY ARE DEALING WITH. I HAVE NOT BUILT A BUSINESS SINCE 1980 ON BEING DISHONEST. IF THE PICTURE DOESNT SHOW! IT IS BEING RAN PRIVATE TO ELIMINATE THE USE OF MY AUCTIONS BY SCANDALOUS PEOPLE. It has taken me over 100 hours to add it to all my items. They will not tell me why it needs to be added. If you have more questions about this item, please contact me at the following. Original STAR WARS B Advance Teaser 1 sheet LINENBACKED Union Strike Version

Original STAR WARS B Advance Teaser 1 sheet LINENBACKED Union Strike Version

Original STAR WARS B Advance Teaser 1 sheet, 27×41 movie theater poster. 2 tiny touch up spots, otherwise very near mint before linenbacked, Absolutely beautiful poster! THIS WAS THE POSTER PRODUCED AND DISPLAYED PRIOR TO THE RELEASE OF STAR WARS. I HAVE TAKEN THEM FROM SEVERAL THEATERS AROUND THE WORLD. AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND, FIJI, GUAM ETC. I RECEIVED SEVERAL FROM LUCAS FILM EMPLOYEES. I RECEIVED THEM FROM PEOPLE WHO CLAIMED TO HAVE GOT THEM FROM THE FAN CLUB. HOWEVER, I DIDNT PERSONALLY GET THEM FROM THE FAN CLUB. SEVERAL HUNDRED COPIES CAME FROM THE 20TH CENTURY-FOX WAREHOUSE. MY STORE IN MARIN COUNTY WAS A MAGNET FOR POSTERS THAT WERE NOT CONSIDERED TO BE AS VALUABLE AS THEY ARE NOW. Star Wars Advance 1977 (Blue Style). There are 2 versions of this that were authorized and printed by National Screen Service. The GAU is the union logo that appears on most original theatrical posters found on the lower white border in the center. One version of this Star Wars Advance has the logo on it, the second does not. At the Cleveland location that I worked at there had been an altercation with the Union steward and some of the printers. There had been a short strike for a week causing some problems with the use of the logo on posters. Thus, it was omitted from the printing of this particular poster out of the Cleveland NSS location. Both of these versions of this poster are to be considered original! Leonard Powers FOR THIS INFORMATION. THE PROFESSOR WAS AN EMPLOYEE OF THE NATIONAL SCREEN SERVICE FROM 1965 TO 1988. HIS WEBSITE IS PROVIDING ACCURATE INFORMATION UNLIKE THE RIDICULOUS AND SCANDALOUS WEBSITES AND CHATROOMS. THIS IS THE ORIGINAL RELEASE, THIS POSTER WAS PRINTED FOR 20TH CENTURY FOX UNDER TO BE DISPLAYED AT THEATERS AS ADVERTISEMENT, THIS IS NOT A REPRINT, REISSUE, RESTRIKE OR REANYTHING. I BOUGHT POSTERS IN SMALL AND LARGE AMOUNTS, 1 TO 1000 COPIES AND MORE.
