Star Wars Return Of The Jedi Rotj Rare Printer's Proof Sheets Lot Of 45

Super cool Star Wars collectible. This is a grouping of 45 original printer’s proof sheets for the full-color booklet that came inside the original soundtrack album for The Return Of The Jedi from 1983. Large, poster-sized prints that measure 25″ x 38″ and are in nice shape. Some of the sheets have just a little bit of waviness in the white space between the big pictures and the small ones. You might also see the odd tiny edge nick / bend. Also, doesn’t lie completely flat due to the way it was stored, but it should matte or frame out just fine. These are really nice rare pieces for the collector that doesn’t have everything! Great for a dealer! Please see all pics. This item is in the category “Entertainment Memorabilia\Movie Memorabilia\Posters\Originals-United States\1980-89″. The seller is “celluloidmemories” and is located in this country: US. FROM ABOUT 1979 TO 1984 ORIGINAL MOVIE POSTERS WERE PRIMARILY USED IN VIDEO STORES. THE FINAL DECISION ON VIDEO STORE RENTAL LAW WASN’T MADE UNTIL 1984. HOWEVER, BY THEN THE COURT AND THE STUDIOS SEEN THE INDUSTRY GROW OUT OF CONTROL WHILE STILL IN COURT. THEY WERE ALREADY PRODUCING THE VIDEOS AND JOINING IN THE BUSINESS IN A BIG WAY WHILE STILL IN COURT FIGHTING THE LEGALITY OF THE BUSINESS. The Supreme Court’s decision in the case of Sony v. By the end of 1983 there were eight million video recorders in use in the U. That number would soar as the legality of home recording seemed settled. Nonetheless, the studios lobbied Congress for a law that would attach a royalty or surcharge to the sale of VCRs and blank tapes. THIS IS AN ORIGINAL 14X36 “INSERT” POSTER FROM THE 1982 RELEASE ON VIDEO. VERY VERY FINE-NEAR MINT. THE ART ON THE VIDEO POSTER IS CROPPED DIFFERENT THAN THE CLEVELAND AND THE CALIFORNIA PRINTED ORIGINAL THEATRE RELEASE INSERT, IT IS VERY COMMON FOR THIS TO HAPPEN WITH DIFFERENT PRINTERS AND DIFFERENT PRINT RUNS. LOTS OF MISINFORMATION HAS BEEN SPREAD ABOUT MOVIE POSTERS. LUCAS HAD A NUMBER OF POSTERS PRINTED AWAY FROM THE NSS AND SOMETIMES NON UNION. SOMETIMES THE SAME PRINT SHOP PRINTED THEM AS THE NSS PRINTED ONES. I HAVE ONLY SEEN 8 OF THESE POSTERS IN 30 YEARS. The blue background gives the large photo a yellow tint on my monitor at the top, I do not know if it will on everyones, it is not yellowed at all, it is still close to minty white. BELOW IS THE THEATRE RELEASE BOTTOM. IF THE PICTURE DOESNT SHOW! IT IS BEING RAN PRIVATE TO ELIMINATE THE USE OF MY AUCTIONS BY SCANDALOUS PEOPLE. MUST HAVE STAR WARS. RARE – WITHDRAWN POSTER! STAR WARS REFERENCE COLLECTION POSTER GUIDE! A COMPLETE SET OF ALL THREE. ORIGINAL STAR WARS 1977 ADVANCE MINI-WINDOW MOVIE POSTERS! Sought after Star Wars originals (see photo #1 and 2). 20th Century-Fox and The Star Wars Corporation distributed all 3 of these little gems. The original 20th Century-Fox 1976 dated Star Wars press book instructs theater managers to wild post in and around campuses; on bulletin boards, in meeting halls, cafeterias, bookstores, music shops, everywhere students congregate. These scarce ADVANCE mini window posters were used for that exact purpose, as well as being displayed at the movie theater ticket counters, and, being sent in the early pre-release Press Kits! When Fox began to market Star Wars in early 1977, they could not decide on how to market the film. Mark Hamill did a QVC television program on Oct. 28, 1992 and was quoted to say, When [Star Wars] opened we didn’t have any posters–we just had photographs outside the building. ” He elaborates by saying that, “Fox wasn’t sure what campaign to go with–an adventure, a 2001 odyssey, etc. The 3 mini window posters offered here demonstrate nicely the early Star Wars campaign in progress. The wordy Teaser pictured in the middle speaks of “Imagination” but does not deliver. This “Odyssey” style poster was dropped from the campaign early on before the film’s release. It was ONLY made in this mini window and jumbo (84×91 inch) 7-sheet size. The final version of a teaser made for the Star Wars campaign, taken from the film’s lead-in, was only ready shortly before the May 25th release date in 1977. Have been used by the motion picture industry since the silent movie days. Not all films released had mini window posters. Mostly big films such as The Wizard of Oz, King Kong, Casablanca, all the way to 2001: A Space Odyssey used mini window posters. They’re among the rarest of all posters made, MUCH RARER than the one sheets! Most of these were tossed out. No Star Wars poster collection is complete without these! All 3 of these posters are in MINT/NearMINT UNUSED ORIGINAL UNRESTORED CONDITION!! The first one with the historic May 25th release date, the Avco Center Cinema and Plitt City Center Cinema, measures 7 1/2″ x 6 3/4″. The “Odyssey” version with the PG logo measures 9 1/2″ x 7 1/2, ” and the Final version with the Dolby logo measures 8×10 inches. These posters are printed on regular poster paper. They are often referred to as Heralds and/or flyers due to their small size. If you’re looking for an investment/museum quality items. FREE is a mint condition copy of the Star Wars collectors guide (see photos #5 and 6). It is the best source for information, prices and photos on the original posters. The 3 mini windows are featured in it. It has a price guide. AND full color photos on ALL of the following Star Wars posters & MORE! It pictures all this stuff. CROSS-PROMOTION FOR 1ST RELEASE! Here are some of the most interesting, nicest, and, most important Star Wars advertising pieces ever created. An Original set of 1977 “Star Wars” Store Display Ceiling Hanger Mobiles issued while the film was in its very first release! Back in 1977, Star Wars burst onto the scene with little advance fanfare. There were very few licensees that had signed on before the movie’s initial May 25th opening [HAPPY BIRTHDAY Star Wars]. Once the film hit, creating the instant sensation of long lines around theater blocks and word-of-mouth chatter throughout the country, a slew of manufactures scrambled to get products ready. Drawing Board moved fast, printing a plethora of products like stationary, napkins, children’s party plates, stickers, etc. Subsequently, they were able cash in BIG on the early explosion of interest in the film. These three VERY RARE store display mobiles (or ceiling hangers/posters) were issued into their outlets to advertise the said products – while the film was still playing its first run! The three two-sided posters are in. EXCELLENT ORIGINAL UNRESTORED CONDITION!! I posted photos of the fronts and backs. The Vader and the Stormtrooper measure 10 and 1/2 inches tall and the circular title piece measures 10 inches. All three are dated 1977. Also, as a freebee, I’m including an unused 1977 Darth Vader greeting card (see photo #3), with the original envelope, as a nice example of what these displays are advertising. THIS SET WILL BE PROFESSIONALLY PACKAGED! Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi Anthony Daniels….
