Star Wars Episode VI – Return of the Jedi 1983 One Sheet NSS Printer’s Test Proof movie poster. This poster is considered to be a test proof used by the printers at Continental Lithograph, before they finalized the silver title version. In 2022, Premiere Poster had the privilege of purchasing the entire movie poster collection of a retired employee of Continental Litho. Continental Lithograph, founded in 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio, is widely considered to be one of the pioneers of movie poster printing along with Morgan Litho. In the 1950s, Continental Litho. Was acquired by National Screen Service (NSS). At that point, Continental printed most of the NSS posters that you see today. The collection included rare Printer’s Proofs, uncut sheets of lobby cards and posters, as well as many unused rolled and folded posters that were taken right off the press. None of the collection made it into circulation, which is considered extremely rare. Premiere Poster is thrilled to share this part of Continental Litho. This poster has been stored rolled for nearly 40 years. It does NOT have pin holes. There are two small pen markings at the top of the poster from the printers proof process. Please see pics for condition details. This poster is in very good condition. I do not sell fakes or reproductions. Lawrence Kasdan(screenplay by)George Lucas(screenplay by). Mark Hamill Harrison Ford Carrie Fisher. This item is in the category “Entertainment Memorabilia\Movie Memorabilia\Posters\Originals-United States\1980-89″. Nonetheless, the studios lobbied Congress for a law that would attach a royalty or surcharge to the sale of VCRs and blank tapes. THIS IS AN ORIGINAL 14X36 “INSERT” POSTER FROM THE 1982 RELEASE ON VIDEO. VERY VERY FINE-NEAR MINT. THE ART ON THE VIDEO POSTER IS CROPPED DIFFERENT THAN THE CLEVELAND AND THE CALIFORNIA PRINTED ORIGINAL THEATRE RELEASE INSERT, IT IS VERY COMMON FOR THIS TO HAPPEN WITH DIFFERENT PRINTERS AND DIFFERENT PRINT RUNS. LOTS OF MISINFORMATION HAS BEEN SPREAD ABOUT MOVIE POSTERS. LUCAS HAD A NUMBER OF POSTERS PRINTED AWAY FROM THE NSS AND SOMETIMES NON UNION. SOMETIMES THE SAME PRINT SHOP PRINTED THEM AS THE NSS PRINTED ONES. I HAVE ONLY SEEN 8 OF THESE POSTERS IN 30 YEARS. The blue background gives the large photo a yellow tint on my monitor at the top, I do not know if it will on everyones, it is not yellowed at all, it is still close to minty white. BELOW IS THE THEATRE RELEASE BOTTOM. IF THE PICTURE DOESNT SHOW! IT IS BEING RAN PRIVATE TO ELIMINATE THE USE OF MY AUCTIONS BY SCANDALOUS PEOPLE. Original 27 X 41 1 sheet ROLLED 1977 STAR WARS Style C Scratched Plate Version

Original 27 X 41 1 sheet ROLLED 1977 STAR WARS Style C Scratched Plate Version

Original STAR WARS style C 27×41 movie theater poster. THIS WAS THE POSTER PRODUCED FOR THE BRITISH RELEASE. I HAVE TAKEN THEM FROM SEVERAL THEATERS AROUND THE WORLD. AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND, FIJI, GUAM ETC. I RECEIVED SEVERAL FROM LUCAS FILM EMPLOYEES. I RECEIVED THEM FROM PEOPLE WHO CLAIMED TO HAVE GOT THEM FROM THE FAN CLUB. HOWEVER, I DID NOT PERSONALLY GET THEM FROM THE FAN CLUB. SEVERAL HUNDRED COPIES CAME FROM THE 20TH CENTURY-FOX WAREHOUSE. MY STORE IN MARIN COUNTY WAS A MAGNET FOR POSTERS THAT WERE NOT CONSIDERED TO BE AS VALUABLE AS THEY ARE NOW. ANOTHER INTERESTING THING IS PEOPLE WHO CALL IT FAKE SAY THAT COMPARED TO THE ORIGINAL IT IS SOMEWHAT BETTER? ALSO THE SO CALLED BOOTLEG STYLE A WITH THE HAIR BELT IS ALSO A SCRATCHED PLATE. IN FACT LUCAS FILM’S LICENSED REPRINT HAS THE SAME SCRATCH, IT MAKES NO SENSE TO ME THAT THEY WOULD USE A FAKE POSTER TO MAKE THEIR RETAIL POSTER. I BELIEVE THE REASON ZIGZAG DID THAT IS BECAUSE IT WAS AN ORIGINAL FROM THE ARCHIVES. THE STYLE C USED FOR THE REPRINT WAS A CLEANED UP DIGITAL VERSION OF A PREVIOUS REPRINT, THAT IS WHY THE LETTERING IS BLACK. I ALSO BELIEVE THE SO CALLED TEST PROOF STYLE C IS ACTUALLY THE TEST PROOF FOR THOSE REPRINTS FROM THE 80s WHICH WERE 41 AND OBVIOUS REPRINTS. I CAN NOT PROVE IT, JUST A THEORY I HAVE, SO AS RELIABLE AS THE GUYS CALLING THIS BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL POSTER A BOOTLEG LOL. THIS POSTER WAS NEVER DISPLAYED. IT HAS NO FADING. Very very fine/near mint. Any flaw in it is tiny. Theaters were given several items for display. 8×10 and 11×14 lobby cards, b/w photos, 14×36 “inserts”, 22×28 “1/2 sheet”, “1 sheet” posters originally 27×41 and currently 27×40, 30×40, 40×60, 41×81 etc. Free items from the studio had no cut and dry rule either. THERE MAY BE A FLASH GLARE IN THE PICTURE. ANY FLAW THAT IS IN THE ITEM IS TINY. I HAVE BEEN CONSULTANT TO TELEVISION, RADIO AND MAGAZINE REGARDING MOVIE MEMORABILIA. THIS IS THE ORIGINAL RELEASE, THIS POSTER WAS PRINTED FOR 20TH CENTURY FOX UNDER TO BE DISPLAYED AT THEATERS AS ADVERTISEMENT, GUARANTEED 100% ORIGINAL, ALL NATIONAL SCREEN SERVICE (NSS)NUMBERS AND INFO IS ON THE POSTER, THIS POSTER WAS PRINTED FOR THE NATIONAL SCREEN SERVICE UNDER CONTRACT BY THEIR PRINTER TO BE DISPLAYED AT THEATERS AS ADVERTISEMENT, THIS IS NOT A REPRINT, REISSUE, RESTRIKE OR REANYTHING. THIS ITEM CAME FROM MY RETAIL STORES INVENTORY, I CLOSED MY LAST STORE IN MARIN COUNTY CA. AND EVEN LESS THAT HANDLED PRIMARILY CURRENT TITLES, (1970 & LATER). HOWEVER, OUR SALES WERE ISOLATED TO OUR STORES OR IF WE TRAVELED TO ANTIQUE SHOWS AND COLLECTORS EVENTS. COLLECTIONS WOULD COME IN FROM THE PUBLIC TO MY LOCATION BECAUSE THEY HAD NO WHERE ELSE TO SELL THEM. I BOUGHT POSTERS IN SMALL AND LARGE AMOUNTS, 1 TO 1000 COPYS AND MORE. FOR EXAMPLE, IN 1984, I LEFT ONE THEATER WITH 23 SUITCASES FULL OF 68 LBS OF POSTERS IN EACH ONE. 70LBS WAS THE WEIGHT LIMIT TO GET ON A PLANE. I PAID MORE FOR THE EXTRA LUGGAGE THAN I DID THE POSTERS. IN THE LATE 1970′S AND EARLY 1980′S POSTERS WERE STILL AVAILABLE TO BE BOUGHT DIRECT FROM NATIONAL SCREEN SERVICE. AT THE TIME THERE WASN’T ENOUGH BUYERS TO SELL TO AND KEEP A CASH FLOW. COLLECTIONS CAME TO ME WHILE WORKING ANTIQUE SHOWS IN THE MALLS IN THE 1980′S. SEVERAL STUDIO AND PRINTER EMPLOYEES BROUGHT ME POSTERS WHILE I WORKED THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA MALLS. ONE INTERESTING THING IS THAT THE VIDEO STORES IN THE EARLY 1980′S WERE GETTING ORIGINAL POSTERS WITH THEIR TAPE ORDERS. THOSE USUALLY HAD THE EXTRA FOLD. IN THE EARLY 1990′S MY STORE IN MARIN BROUGHT IN MORE POSTERS THAN I WILL EVER BE ABLE TO SELL. I HAVE BOUGHT OUT REGIONAL WAREHOUSES BOTH IN DOMESTIC AND FOREIGN LOCATIONS. I COULD TELL STORIES FOR DAYS LIKE THIS, HOWEVER, NOT EVERYBODY WANTS TO HEAR THEM :. I HAVE NOT TOLD MY HISTORY BEFORE BECAUSE IT SEEMED LIKE BRAGGING TO ME, HOWEVER, THERE ARE SO MANY RIDICULOUS RUMORS GOING UNCHECKED ON THE INTERNET, AS WELL AS INTENTIONAL FRAUD I HAVE LAID SOME OF MY CREDENTIALS OUT FOR CUSTOMERS TO KNOW WHO THEY ARE DEALING WITH. I HAVE NOT BUILT A BUSINESS SINCE 1980 ON BEING DISHONEST. IF THE PICTURE DOESNT SHOW! IT IS BEING RAN PRIVATE TO ELIMINATE THE USE OF MY AUCTIONS BY SCANDALOUS PEOPLE. It has taken me over 100 hours to add it to all my items. They will not tell me why it needs to be added. If you have more questions about this item, please contact me at the following.

Star Wars NSS? ROLLED NEVER-FOLDED 1-SHEET MOVIE POSTER? RAREST OF THE RARE

Star Wars NSS? ROLLED NEVER-FOLDED 1-SHEET MOVIE POSTER? RAREST OF THE RARE

THE ELITE STAR WARS! NOT SUPPOSED TO EXIST! Here’s simply the RAREST of all the genuine first release Star Wars one sheets: A BONA FIDE ORIGINAL ROLLED NEVER-FOLDED 1978 National Screen service (NSS) issued Star Wars Style “D”! If you’re knowledgeable about film posters, then you already know that the National Screen Service did NOT issue this poster rolled, and so this original example is an anomaly and a true rarity. Just try and find another rolled one for sale anywhere! It’s NOT supposed to exist in this form. The reason this one survived unfolded is that it was personally saved by the foreman of the print shop NSS used. He rescued the poster before it hit the folding machine. I got it from him some thirty odd years later. He perfectly stored it away in a tube. IT’S MINT/Near MINT ROLLED! This is a genuine original! The style “D” Star Wars is one of the most famous movie poster originals of all time. Star Wars originally opened in May of 1977 on just 32 theater screens worldwide. It played continually for more than a year straight to record-breaking crowds in extremely limited release. After that extended “roadshow play, ” Fox decided to go WIDE with Star Wars in the summer of 1978, expanding the release into thousands of theaters. There was finally time to execute the poster George Lucas had originally envisioned but couldn’t deliver by the films rushed 1977 opening. Two artists, Charles White III and Drew Struzan, were commissioned to execute the style “D” artwork. Huge quantities of FOLDED style “D” 1-sheets were then sent along with the newly made prints of the film around the world, which is why folded versions are very common – NOT THIS ROLLED ONE! Like I said, try and find another available ANYWHERE! This is an important poster to own. If you are an advanced Star Wars collector, or, just a collector of vintage rarities. Only a TINY handful of NSS originals in rolled condition have surfaced in over 35 years! I’m THE only person in the world that can say that. This rolled version of the legendary “D” poster is rarer than older original one-sheets like Forbidden Planet and Day the Earth Stood Still! This one is in top-notch condition, and has been perfectly stored FLAT between acid free paper since I got it. If you are looking for an investment/museum quality item – THIS IS IT! Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi Anthony Daniels…. It can crash regardless of any decision you make and can even crash regardless of any decision made by the company related to the stock – Leaving you with a near worthless piece of paper that won’t inspire anyone! The magnificence of art and historic documents have an inherent value that relates to civilization and society. This poster is definitely ECONOMY PROOF! Please write with any questions. If you are in the market for top quality original vintage movie posters or Star Wars, then please.
